National Black Police Association Applications
In order to join the National Black Police Association, either as an individual member or chapter, the following process must be followed:
INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP
- Fill out an individual membership application, with payment, and return to the national office of the National Black Police Association.
- Individual members do not have to be a member of a chapter.
- Individual members will be permitted to vote at the General Session of the Annual Conference.
- Individual members interested in an elected local position must be a member in a local NBPA charter chapter.
- Membership benefits include: membership card, lapel pin, one year complimentary subscription to the NBPA Advocate newsletter, NBPA travel discounts, reduced conference registration fees, and professional training opportunities.
If you are interested in starting an NBPA Charter Chapter, the following process must be completed. CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP
- Submit a completed NBPA membership application for chapter affiliate membership.
Membership can consist of active, retired peace officers and associate members.
- Submit a mailing list of at least twenty (20) individual members and include payment of
$100.00 for each member to the national office.
- An organization application service fee is $200.00 annually.
- Secure a permanent mailing address.
- Comply with the NBPA Articles of Incorporation, Constitution and By-Laws, policies, procedures and resolutions.
- Only those members of charter chapters will be eligible for elections at the local, regional and national level (see reorganization plan)
- Send all of the above information to the national office

There is no limit on the number of charter chapters per city, state or agency.
